We all know that the month of February is dedicated to flowers, heart shaped candies and all things love. Reminder, Valentine's Day is coming up! So to follow suit, we decided to share the top 3 pests that we love to hate here at Plunkett’s. And it’s only fair that we attempt to say nice things about them...it’s the best we can do as a longtime Midwest pest control company. So here you have it, our least favorite pests but with a twist of why we should hold back the hatred in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Bed Bugs

They cause bites, closings of schools and hospitals, and serious drama but bed bugs could use a little break. These blood sucking insects don’t even spread disease, nor are they big and scary looking. And with the trusted bed bug heat treatments and other bed bug control solutions at Plunkett’s your bed bug worries will be put to rest safely and quickly!

Spiders

Perhaps the creepiest of the crawlies, spiders are a notoriously hated pest. And while some do cause harmful bites, we can’t simply hate them. Spiders weave silk into intricate webs, almost an art form of its own. They also should be credited for eating many insects like flies and other insects, saving us from potential disease and contamination.

Mice

It’s hard to find a lot of love for mice who could right now be scurrying through the walls of your home and leaving harmful bacteria and pathogens in their wake. While we can’t think of too many good things to say about these rodents we should note that mice are valuable in the research field where cures for medical conditions and disease are being chased. You may even go so far as to say, mice are kind of cute (only when they are not in the home) and may remind you of the family’s pet hamster.   There, we got it out that there is some good to be had even in the pests that we love to hate the most. But keep in mind, these critters poses a threat to the health and safety of your home and business which is why if you do find bed bugs, spiders, mice or any other pests, please contact the pest control professionals! Just because we shared some of their good qualities do not mean they deserve a spot in your mattress, attic, or kitchen cupboards.   For residents and business owners in the Midwest including Minneapolis and Alexandra, Minnesota; Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska; or throughout the Quad City region, contact Plunkett’s Pest Control today to learn more about our year round pest control plans for homes and our pest control services for hotels and other commercial facilities.
